  1. COURSE DESCRIPTION
    This Certificate of Attainment COA in Individual & Group Supervision training course is designed to provide a Supervision qualification for mental health professionals in clinical practice, particularly those who wish to become eligible to apply for listing as a Supervisor. The Stepping-Up course is an internationally recognised qualification in Professional/Clinical Supervision being recognised by the ACA and many other Australian peak bodies. The course is valuable for trained counsellors, social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists, nurses, midwives and GPs. The training program covers all the competencies that are required as a component of eligibility for membership to the premiere College of Supervisors, a professional College of specialists under the Australian Counselling Association Inc (ACA). The course consists of self-study components followed by a 3-day face-to-face workshop.
  2. COURSE TIME AND DURATION
    Individual and Group Supervision Course & Workshop:
    3 Components: 120 Hours (nominal)
    Three components:
    Component 1 Pre-course study
    88 Hours (nominal)
    Reading the textbook “The Practice of Counselling & Clinical Supervision” 2017, Australian Academic Press.
    Answering the Questionnaire and writing Reflective essay based on the textbook.
    Component 2 Video Series
    8 Hours (nominal)
    Watching specific videos and answering quiz questions
    Component 3 Three day face-to-face workshop 24 Hours (1 hour prep plus 9.30am – 4.30pm each day over 3 days).
    Preparation, presentations, group discussions, practice supervision scenarios and assessed supervision triads.
  3. FEES AND COSTS
    Individual and Group Supervision Course & Workshop:
    Course Fee
    $990 for the full course including the 3-day workshop
    Note that for ACA members, the course also counts for 10 OPD Points + 6 hours of Professional Supervision which can save you on those expenses.
    Refund policy
    14 days’ notice is required for 75% refund.
    24 hours is required for 50% refund.
    No refund on non-attendance.
    Note that there is also a textbook each participant needs to purchase through Academic Australian Press or Amazon to complete the pre-workshop components (approximately $55 plus postage).

    In her professional capacity as a Counsellor and Hypnotherapist, Lyndall has been in full-time private practise for over 20 years. She has been on the board of the ACA since its incorporation and is president of the ASCH (Australian Society of Clinical Hypnotherapists). She is an experienced registered supervisor with both associations.

  6. ELIGIBILITY & SUITABILITY
    Eligibility
    To be eligible to undertake this training program it is recommended that anyone undertaking this course has a minimum of 2 years supervised practice experience in counselling, social work, psychology, nursing, education or similar.
